Flying High for a Greener Tomorrow: DPS Sharjah Awarded the Prestigious Green Flag!

Delhi Private School, Sharjah has officially reached a massive landmark in its sustainability journey—we are now officially a Green Flag School!

The prestigious Green Flag Award Ceremony was a powerful celebration of our school community’s unwavering commitment to protecting the planet and nurturing responsible global citizens.

A Star-Studded Celebration of Earth

The event brought together an incredible gathering of students, teachers, parents, and leaders. We were honored to welcome Chief Guest Mr. Moaz Sawaf, Conservation Expert with Emirates Nature-WWF & FEE Academy representative in the UAE, alongside our respected Principal and Director, Ms. Vandana Marwaha, Vice Principals, and Headmistress.

The morning opened with a soulful prayer, Quran recitation, and an instrumental rendition of the UAE National Anthem, setting a tone of unity, gratitude, and respect.

Not Just an Award—A Continuous Journey

In her inspiring address, Ms. Vandana Marwaha reminded us all that the Green Flag isn’t just a trophy to display—it’s a reflection of our collective responsibility.

From saving electricity and conserving water to cutting down waste and recycling, every small action counts toward building active custodians of the environment. Sustainability Lead Ms. Anjum Hasan and a special video showcase took us down memory lane, highlighting DPS Sharjah’s decade-long evolution from basic eco-awareness to real, impactful campus action.

Art, Rhythm, and the Unveiling

The ceremony was packed with creativity and passion:

• The Five Elements Dance: A striking performance creatively capturing the harmony between Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space.
• Eco Byte Release: We officially unveiled the latest edition of Eco Byte, our bi-annual sustainability newsletter packed with student voices and green projects.
• The Grand Unveiling: The highlight of the day! The iconic Green Flag was finally revealed, symbolizing years of hard work, perseverance, and hope for future generations.

Chief Guest Mr. Moaz Sawaf shared moving personal anecdotes, urging students to remember that every conscious choice made today shapes the world we live in tomorrow.

As the ceremony wrapped up with a heartfelt vote of thanks and a collective green pledge, one thing became clear: the Green Flag flying high over our campus isn’t the end of our journey—it’s just the beginning! 🌿✨
