GLOBAL RECYCLING DAY with COMMUNITY @DPS SHARJAH

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has declared 2025 as the Year of Community under the inspiring tagline “Hand in Hand.” This initiative calls upon everyone who calls the UAE home to contribute through community service, volunteerism, and meaningful actions that promote shared responsibility and progress.

In alignment with this vision, DPS Sharjah celebrated Global Recycling Day on 18 March 2025, witnessing an overwhelming response and enthusiastic participation from staff and students across all phases—from KG to Grade 12. Many parents also joined the celebrations, adding to the spirit of togetherness and reinforcing the importance of sustainability within our community.

Nearly 1,000 Dipsites contributed by donating books, newspapers, electronic devices, clothes, toys, used cooking oil, and more. Engaging activities such as composting using Bokashi bins, interactive quizzes, and games were key highlights of the event. Adding a unique touch, fresh vegetables from our very own Organic Garden were sold at a lively stall.

All proceeds and collections from the initiative will be donated to the Big Heart Foundation, ensuring that our collective efforts extend beyond the campus and make a meaningful difference.
