World Water Run 2023
“Water is life’s matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.”
The morning of 22nd March, 2023, recognized by the United Nations as the World Water Day, to achieve SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, saw many dipsites thronging the Green Field geared up to take part in the World Water Run 2023.
The World Water Run is a global initiative that is organized under the patronage of Ms. Mina Guli, CEO of Thirst Foundation, Bayer and WWF. Led by the country captains from our school- Sashini Manikandan (10-H), Akshita Iyer (6-D), Vihaan Harrison (6-I), Yukti Sharma (6-A) and Adel Eshan (6-J), our students from Grade 6 to 12 and teachers enthusiastically, took to the racing track to complete their pledged distance. Principal and Director, Ms. Vandana Marwaha also took part enthusiastically in this campaign along with the rest of the Senior Leadership Team.
Our school currently stands in as the organization as the one with the most participation in this global initiative leading up to the UN Water Conference 2023. Congratulations DPS Sharjah!
