Earth Day 2023

On the 19th of April 2023, Earth Day was celebrated momentously at Delhi Private School Sharjah. The events and activities proved to be an impeccable array of colour pallets, each with its own facet.

The middle school students celebrated earth day by creating stunning artworks paying homage to our mother nature. The event was marked with great zeal and welcomed with tremendous enthusiasm as students explored their creative corner and connected it with the environment in the most magnificent fashion.

Students of grade 6 worked on designing and building bird feeder contraptions out of recycled wastes and materials as a gesture of appreciation and care for nature. The exhibits saw all the various materials, from recycled plastic bottles to used cardboard boxes.

Grade 7 students got their hands dirty and built mini, glass jar-sized terrariums, understanding every aspect that goes into a sustainable ecosystem. Many students got creative and went far and beyond to make it functional and elegant.

Grade 8 students worked creatively to develop astounding personal diaries out of old recycled books. The artwork represented the overarching theme of nature. Again students showed no lack of exemplary artistry.

Moreover, the Eco-Monitors from grades 6-8 got the opportunity to visit the Dubai Butterfly Garden. Being in the world of the awestriking beauty of butterflies would be a fond memory engraved in every student’s heart.

The students of grades 9 and 10 were indulged in perhaps surpassing the works of transcending artists. For the former, the students had to work on turning plain clothing into vibrant and flamboyant ones. It may sound understated, but in truth, the effort taken by the students in taking one step further towards restoring mother nature ensures a gravitational security of the future. The latter was involved in making fabulous and vivid designs for Tote Bags. These colourful bags persuaded a leading edge towards using these recyclable benisons.

The beguiling act, “NUKKAD NATTAK” soared like a mixture of tides with entertaining yet significant elements and substance. The act gained massive outreach and spread the essence of reforming the deteriorating nature.

The students of grade 11 had a vital role in escalating the aura and magnitude of nature, plants, water, and a lot more in the Eco Corner as they competed against one another with their medicinal plants and posters made from recycled materials. The students made informational presentations about the plants they grew with all their love and care. The idea to promote a sustainable life with nature was spread through the 12th graders as well with their Eco Corners.

Overall, the activities and the events were an out-and-out opportunity for the students to reflect and back-pedal the retrogression to our immaculate, subtle Earth.
